Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026

This policy applies to My Matron, the health information website at mymatron.com. It explains what information we collect when you visit the site, comment, subscribe to updates or contact us, and how we use it. You can contact My Matron about privacy at hello@mymatron.com.

Information we collect

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to read and respond to your message.

If you leave a comment, we receive the details you enter in the comment form, together with your IP address and browser information for moderation and spam protection. An approved comment and the name you use can be seen by other visitors. Please do not post private medical details in a public comment.

If you choose to receive post updates by email, we use your email address to send them. You can unsubscribe through a link in those emails.

The site also collects technical information needed to deliver and protect its pages. Google Analytics is connected to the site and measures how visitors use it, such as pages viewed and interactions. We use those reports to improve the site.

Why we use information

We use information to operate and secure the site, answer messages, moderate comments, send updates that people request, and understand which pages are useful. Our legal bases are our legitimate interests in running and protecting the site and replying to enquiries, and consent for optional email updates and non-essential analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies and other services

WordPress uses cookies for login and comment preferences. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies to measure visits. Content embedded from another site, such as a video, can allow that provider to collect information when you load or use it. You can control cookies in your browser.

The site uses providers to host and operate its pages and related services, including IONOS for hosting, Automattic/Jetpack for WordPress features such as comment subscriptions, and Google for Analytics. Those providers may process information under their own arrangements. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep information

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up. Comments and their moderation details remain while the comment is published or needed to manage the discussion; we may remove them earlier. Email subscription details remain until you unsubscribe or the service ends. Technical and analytics information follows the retention settings of the services we use. We will review these periods and remove information when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, or in some circumstances to delete it, restrict its use or object to its use. Some rights have exceptions. Email hello@mymatron.com with your request.

We may update this policy if the way the site works changes. The date at the top will show when it was last revised.
